Prologue

A tabby brown tom with powerful shoulders appeared from the cave.
"Cats of Thunderclan, come here for a clan meeting!" he yowled.
A dark ginger she-cat leaped next to him, moving her round belly full of unborn kits.
"This day three apprentices will become warriors" he continued.
"And I call my warriors ancestors to look down and feel proud of them".

Three cats-a she-cat and two toms-padded to the center of the clearing."Snowpaw, you have trained well, and I'm sure that Ivypool was a fine mentor, do you promise to look after your clan, feeding it, fighting for it and protecting it with your life?"
The white tom's amber eyes gleamed in the shy rays of the sun. "Yes Bramblestar, I promise" Bramblestar flicked his tail and carried on. "Then from this day until the end of the stars you will be called Snowpelt, may Starclan light your path"
He looked down at the others.  With proud tone he said "Dewpaw, Bumblestripe has trained you well, do you promise to protect the clan and follow the warrior code?" Dewpaw bounced happily and excited like a kit "Of course I do!" Every cat in the clearing purred. "Then I name you Dewheart, may Starclan be with you".

Bramblestar glanced down to the last apprentice. A beautiful light grey she-cat with fluffy tail and white spots was waiting impatiently to her turn.
"Amberpaw, you have served the clan well, and Greystripe was a fine mentor. Do you promise to follow the warrior code and to fight for your clan with your life if it's necessary"
Amberpaw sat down and tried to stay calmly "I do, Bramblestar"
Brightheart, the senior warrior and mother of the newly warriors sat down and puffed out her chest proudly.
"Then from this day until the end of the clans, you will be known as Amberleaf, may Starclan guide you, the meeting is over"

"Snowpelt, Dewheart, Amberleaf!" called the crowd of the cats, ignoring that this was just the beginning.
