Chapter 1

Amberleaf woke up curled in her nest. It was sunhigh. They-she and her brothers, Dewheart and Snowpelt-had spent the whole night guarding the camp entrance because of their ceremony. She yawned and streched her legs. She looked behind her. Dewheart was curled next to her, but Snowpelt wasn't there.
She got up without waking her brother 'He is a lazy furball' she added for herself

She left the warrior's den and saw the hunting patrol returning. Ivypool was leading it. Behind her was Snowpelt talking with Cherryflower. Hazeltail, Brackenfur and Poppyfrost were talkinf some mouse-lenghts away, with prey in their mouths. She just noticed that the pile was growing thiner, and the hnting patrols bigger.
She heard Robinpaw, Ravenpaw and Coalpaw happy mews from the elders nest. Sandstorm have moved into it with Dustpelt and Spiderleg, leaving Brackenfur and Graystripe's the senior warriors positions. Snowpelt nodded to her and entered into the den to wake up their brother, Dewheart. Snowpelt had always been a serious cat, loyal and proud. He didn't talk to much, but he was very, very proud and a bit arrogant.
Amberleaf had been closer to Dewheart than to their other litter-mate, maybe because he was kinder than Snowpelt.
He'd been softer because of Cherryflower. They got along well from the moment Cherrypaw became a warrior.
"Amberleaf!" called Lionblaze. He was the new deputy, he was choosen after Squirrelflight, that was pregnant of Bramblestar's kits. "I want you to go to be in a border patrol with Robinpaw, Berrynose and Blossomfall" he meowed.
She just nodded and walked towards the elders' den. "Robinpaw, Lionblaze wants us to be in the hunting patrol" The sorrel colored she-cat nodded to Dustpelt and walked until she fell next to Amberleaf. Berrynose was waiting in the entrance with Blossomfall.
"Thanks Starclan you have come!" Berrynose shouted. "We've been waiting forever!" added Blossomfall. Amberleaf sighed and looked to Robinpaw. "I think Lionblaze hates us or something" the apprentice whispered in Amberleaf's ear. She gave her a little hiss for her to hush, but she was right, Berrynose, Blossomfall, Jayfeather, Cloudtail, Snowpelt, Spiderleg and Dustpelt could really become very annoying.
"Let's do it quickly" she meowed.
